Aathisoodi is a didactic poetry book written by Avvayar, a lady poet, in 13th Century AD in Tamil language. It consists of 108 small verses which summarises the life lessons in maximum of 4 words per verse.

Always try to get what you deserve. Do not expect too much.

Earn pride in your life by your activities. Be a popular man in your society.


35. keezhmai agatRu - Remove your bad deeds


Avoid and expel any bad vibes in your mentality and life. Do not elicit them voluntarily.


36. guNamadhu kaiviDel - Don’t desert your notions


Be a man of principle. Never abandon your vows of discipline.


37. koodi piriYel - Don’t break a friendship


Do not try to cut of a friendship from your end. Same time, do not allow bad friendship near you.


38. keduppadhu ozhi - Don’t disturb anything


Do not hamper anything that is going good. 


39. Kelvi muyal - Always question


Be sure to raise questions about everything. Do not accept anything as is.
